A mum admitted to swearing to her toddler behind her back. Would you do this?
You sacrificed a significant portion of your life when you decided to have a kid. The baby’s life is now most important. Food, sleep, and everything else that you need is now the least of your priorities. That’s just if you’re fortunate enough. You may also have to cope with a serious mental health issue in some situations.
If you’re a mum like me, you may find yourself checking for different parenting styles on the internet. Recently, I stumbled across this latest trend on Mumsnet, and it has surely caught my attention!
People are outraged as a mother confessed to swearing at her kid.
The mother, who goes by Legbreak on Mumsnet, admits to giving the small girl the middle finger behind her back. And people got horrified.
This is what the mum swearing on her kid wrote in her uncovered confession:
Others echoed the sister’s sentiments, describing the behaviour as “shameful” and “awful.”
One commenter said, “It may seem odd, but I lean towards it would be better to scream in front of her than swear at her in secret; there’s an added “nastiness” in the latter that doesn’t sit right with me”. And another one added, “It’s a horrible thing to do to anyone, let alone [to] a toddler.”
Mum swearing on her toddler post gained different comments and views from other parents.
Some think it’s a horrible thing to do to your kid and others think it was okay as long as your kid doesn’t see you.
One mum said, “I’d much rather do that than shout / lose my temper with them – they never see, and I’d never do it in public. But sometimes toddlers are just horrible and it helps!”
Why Do Some Mums Swear On Their Kids?
Based on the comments about the mum swearing on her kid, most of them do this to release their stress and frustrations. But that doesn’t mean that they are a bad mum or are showing inappropriate acts to their kids.
Some of them use this way to release their frustrations instead of shouting in front of their kid’s faces.
But this mum from Scary Mommy will perhaps scare you and your youngster.
She quoted that kids can sometimes be total A-holes and even dared some mums to disagree— and she will call them liars.
In her view, this swearing at her kid makes her a better parent than anyone else.
But here’s the catch,
I’m not talking curse words like “dammit” and “hell.” Oh, no. I pull out the big guns. Those four letter ones of which I am such a big fan.
Now, I would never actually shout obscenities directly at my offspring. Obviously.
Sometimes this is what she do, “Shut the fuck up, you pain in my ass. Shut the fuck up, my dear.” in my head, somehow, makes the moment more bearable.
How about you? Do you swear at your kids?
