According to Masayoshi Soken, sound director and lead composer of Final Fantasy XIV, yesterday's updates to the game included improvements for the sound driver!
The patch notes for Patch 6.01 offered quite a few updates to the game's sounds, including an increased volume of the sound effect that plays when successfully completing an action combo and adjustments to male Viera voice four.
Additionally, under the resolved issues section, the patch notes presented a fix for an issue wherein certain sounds did not play correctly under certain conditions. If issues persist, Soken and the sound team suggest players take the following actions:
Open the Windows control panel, select your default audio device, and view properties. Then, under the Advanced tab, select a lower setting for the default format. (A lower bit rate and Hz range is less system intensive.) |
