#Roommates, as the murder trial of Derek Chauvin entered into its third day, there was a lot of emotional testimony from witnesses who recounted their perspective of the fateful day that George Floyd was tragically murdered. One witness, who was one of the first on the scene during George Floyd’s arrest, broke down in tears as he was shown the body camera footage of the incident while on the witness stand.

@CNN reports, as Derek Chauvin’s murder trial continued with testimony, Charles McMillian, a witness who was one of the earliest arrivals at the scene, sobbed intensely as he watched the graphic footage of George Floyd’s arrest and eventual murder at the hands of Derek Chauvin. Through tears, McMillian said he “felt helpless” as he watched Floyd being handcuffed, shoved into the police car and Chauvin applying intense force with his knee on Floyd’s neck for over eight minutes. Before the struggle between Floyd and the officers began, McMillian said that he was shouting at him to comply with police, telling Floyd “you can’t win.”

He continued, adding “The officer was, you know, trying to get him in the car and everything, talking to him, I was telling him, Mr. Floyd, Mr. Floyd just comply, get in the car because you can’t win. Something to that nature. Because I’ve had interaction with officers myself, and I understand once you get in the car, you can’t win, you’re done. That’s the way I look at it.”

In the body camera video, the police officers are seen attempting to get George Floyd into the squad car, as a struggle ensued. Floyd can then be heard telling the officers he was “claustrophobic” and struggling to breathe.

McMillian was so emotional recounting what happened and watching the video, that the judge decided to take a break from Derek Chauvin’s trial.

The trial continues with more testimony tomorrow. Stay tuned for updates.
