It looks like Travis McMichael will stand trial once again when it comes to the murder of Ahmaud Arbery after withdrawing his guilty plea on the hate crime charge he received for the murder.

According to the Associated Press, on Friday, Travis McMichael withdrew his guilty plea for the hate crime charge, which means he’ll be on trial once again for Ahmaud’s murder. He originally planned to plead guilty in the federal case, but withdrew his plea days after a U.S. District Court judge rejected the terms of a plea deal that was put together between defense attorneys and prosecutors.

As we previously reported, Monday prosecutors filed court documents asking a judge to agree on the plea deal’s terms.

Travis McMichael said to District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood on Friday, “I withdraw the plea.” In a legal filing that took place Thursday, Greg McMichael also decided not to plead guilty to the charge. Now that plea deals for Travis and Greg McMichael have failed, they will be returning to the courtroom, along with William Bryan Jr., for the federal trial next week.

Jury selection for the hate crime trial is expected to take place on Monday.

Ahmaud’s father, Marcus Arbery Sr., said, “All we want is 100% justice for the Arbery family. That’s all we’re looking for.”

The U.S. Justice Department had all three men responsible for Ahmaud’s death indicted on charges for violating his civil rights and targeting him because of his race. Last month, all three men were sentenced for the murder of Ahmaud. Gregory McMichael received life +20 years, his son Travis McMichael received life +20 years, and their neighbor William Bryan Jr. received life with the possibility of parole.
