Beloved journalist and TV personality Leila McKinnon has been holding out on us — girlfriend has some serious skills!

The TV host brought out a ukulele this morning on the Today show, where she's been stationed this week while regular host Allison Langdon recovers from surgery.

In the impromptu performance, McKinnon began to strum Billie Eilish's hit 'Bad Guy' while entertainment reporter Brooke Boney provided the vocals.

It started off well, with Boney remembering most of the words in the first verse, but it slowly went pear-shaped when McKinnon forgot to change chords.

"This couldn't be going worse," McKinnon laughed, while telling Boney, "This was your idea, I think."

"Can we just get to the chorus because that's the only part I know," Boney replied.

But when McKinnon decided to cut straight to the bridge of the song, Boney gave up and asked if they could just sing Vance Joy's hit 'Riptide'.

Not so fast because co-host Karl Stefanovic and newsreader Alex Cullen wanted to join in on the fun, singing along to the chorus before cracking up in laughter.

"Honestly, I can't wait to see the figures for this tomorrow," Stefanovic joked, with Cullen adding, "Y'all come back now, y'all hear?"

Boney concluded that she had to work on her vocals but McKinnon's ukulele was "excellent". Although, we think Boney may be more skilled in the TikTok domain. Recently, she has been working on her dances with her niece on the video-sharing app.

"My niece showed me how to use TikTok for the first time on the weekend and now I know how my nan feels when she uses Facebook," Boney joked, despite nailing the routine.
