#Roommates, President Joe Biden is continuing to move at a very fast pace with making significant changes to several legislations after being in office less than a week. His latest plan of action is to reopen the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, which was rejected during the Trump administration.

@CNN reports, President Biden is proving that making swift changes is part of his strategy for a successful first 100 days in office. It was just formally announced by the White House that he plans to reopen enrollment on Obamacare—as part of a series of executive actions related to healthcare, taking a major step to help uninsured Americans that Trump repeatedly rejected. It also marks Biden’s first move toward delivering on his campaign promise to bolster the landmark health reform law that he supported during his tenure as vice president.

Open enrollment on the federal exchanges for healthcare, which the Trump administration cut in half to six weeks, ended on December 15th—but now that President Biden has the power to reopen sign-ups for Obamacare, it will allow those who are uninsured to select policies under a special enrollment period. Currently, the eleven states that run their own Obamacare exchanges, along with the District of Columbia, allowed their uninsured residents to obtain coverage outside the usual time frame.

In an effort to completely wipe away the legislation of the Trump administration, Biden has signed 33 new measures to date in his first six days, including mandating masks on federal property, reversing Trump’s ban on transgender Americans joining the military, providing additional nutrition assistance and accelerating the manufacturing and delivery of supplies for vaccination and testing.
