The stylist who designed Janet Jackson's infamous wardrobe malfunction outfit, has revealed that the entire idea was Justin Timberlake's -- and that he pushed for it.

Stylist Wayne Scot Lukas told Page Six that Timberlake "insisted on doing something bigger than their performance. He wanted a reveal."

After Janet was blackballed for the malfunction, Timberlake did nothing to defend.

"Janet was going to be in a Rocha dress, and [Justin] was going to step on the back of her dress to reveal her butt in this pearl G-string," he told the outlet, adding that "the outfit changed a couple of days before, and you saw the magic."

"I wouldn't call it a wardrobe 'malfunction' in a million years. It was the most functioning wardrobe in history. As a stylist, it did what it was intended to do," he said.

Timberlake only offered an apology for his part in the incident this year.

"I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed," the Instagram post from Timberlake said. "Because of my ignorance, I didn't recognize it for all that it was while it was happening in my own life but I do not want to ever benefit from others being pulled down again."
