The producer who cast disgraced actor Keven Spacey in the upcoming film L'uomo Che Disegnò Dio (The Man Who Drew God) has defended his controversial decision.
Louis Nero, who is producing Franco Nero's low-budget indie film, has insisted the multiple sexual allegations against the actor are not an issue when it comes to making a movie.
"In Italy, we don't know details on everything, so we don't speak about what we don't know about," he told Entertainment Weekly. "I cannot speak about these things. I only know that Kevin is a great actor. That was my concern and no more than that."

The 61-year-old is set to have a small role in the film. It will be the first time he has acted since late 2017, when he was accused of multiple sexual assault and misconduct allegations dating back to the 1980s.
According to Nero, Spacey is a "very easy man to deal with" so far.
"Both Franco [Nero, lead and director] and I think Kevin is one of the best actors of a generation," he stated. "We don't want to go into the private matter. He's still a great actor."

The Man Who Drew God is set in 1950s Italy. Based on a true story, the story centres around a blind man named Emanuele who has the gift of drawing portraits of people simply by hearing the sound of their voice.
Spacey is set to play a detective in the film with a connection to Emanuele.

The Oscar winner was starring in Netflix's House of Cards in November 2017, but was written off the show after his character was killed, following accusations of sexual misconduct by several men.
Spacey was charged with indecent assault in Nantucket Island, Massachusetts in 2018, in an incident involving a teenage boy. Spacey pled not guilty, and the charge was later dropped when the alleged victim withdrew their civil lawsuit.
Spacey has kept a low profile on social media, last appearing on camera in a Christmas video in 2020.
