The Aussie writer and comedian, 42, shared a heartbreaking tribute via social media on Saturday, marking four years since she suffered a miscarriage.

"This end of May has been fairly unbearable these past four years," she wrote. "But it does get easier each year, I still grieve for what could have been but I'm also so grateful for what came. I just want to reassure anyone going through this kind of loss, the gaps between the all consuming waves do get bigger."https://www.instagram.com/p/CNmY-4VL5Up/
Rusciano also noted the importance of grief and the overwhelming emotions it can bring, especially when it comes to unborn children.
"Don't let anyone tell you how long you're allowed to grieve for, or that your loss isn't a real one because the baby that was growing in you was never born," she added. "I've been told to 'just get over it' many times.. That I was in some way milking my loss. That millions of women go through it everyday so why was I making such I big deal about it. From people that would surprise you. Policing someone's grief isn't ok. So I say to you - do it in your way, in your own time."
The former radio presenter then revealed the significance behind one of her tattoos, which is located on her forearm: "I get asked about this tattoo a lot, I never answer but today I will. It's for my Ray. He sits above his sisters on my arm."
Rusciano suffered a miscarriage in 2017, losing her son Ray at 15 weeks. She has two daughters, Marchella, 19, and Odette, 14, with husband Scott Barrow.
In an interview with Body + Soul, Rusciano opened up about her loss, revealing that her daughters could only watch on as their mother hit "rock bottom."
"Around the time the baby died and all the breakfast-radio stuff was blowing up, the girls saw their mother at complete rock bottom," she told the publication earlier this month. "My girls have seen the ups and downs of my life and career. But they've also seen that I'm most happy when I'm in control, and that's the biggest lesson I can give them: to back yourself; have every other side-hustle job that you can have until you find a place where you're in control."
