He continued, "I feel so blessed and fortunate. We have both grown so much since we first met, and the fact that we have both been able to grow into better, stronger, more secure individuals while still being in a relationship together makes me have faith that this partnership will last a lifetime. For the first time, we're both experiencing unconditional love. The truest kind of love. The kind where we may not always like each other but will ALWAYS love each other. I promise to always be your rock, support, and shoulder to lean on - no matter what. I got you. Ily."

In March last year, Stodden opened up to Us Weekly about their relationship with Sheng.

"I've been dating the same guy for three years, Chris [Sheng]" Stodden said.

"It isn't easy to believe in love. It's hard for me to completely open up to him and trust. 'I'm constantly pulling back and criticizing everything about everything."

Stodden, 26, became famous in 2011 at 16 when they married then 51-year-old actor Doug Hutchison. Their age difference drew plenty of media attention, with Stodden even allegedly being cyberbullied by Chrissy Teigen. At the time, Stodden's mother gave them parental consent because the age of consent in California is 18.

The former couple responded to the backlash in a statement, "We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial. But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless."

Hutchison and Stodden split and reconciled several times. They officially divorced in March last year.
