Whew Chile! Chico DeBarge was ready to throw his brother under the bus last week after he was reportedly pulled over near a shopping center in Burbank, California, and allegedly told the cops that his name was James!
According to TMZ, Chico was stopped by police on January 13th, after police reportedly noticed he was driving without license plates and without his headlights on. The Burbank PD said Chico didn’t have any identification with him, and instead identified himself as his brother, James DeBarge.
According to police, Chico was driving with two female passengers and they found methamphetamines and heroine on him during a search. He was arrested shortly after and cops properly identified him while he was being booked.
Chico has been charged with drug possession, DUI, and false impersonation. He reportedly spent 10 days in jail before making bail on Friday.
This is not Chico’s first run in with the police, however. If y’all recall, Chico was once again arrested for drug possession in Burbank after police reportedly noted him using a piece of wire to attempt to unlock an SUV. Officers reportedly assumed he was attempting to break in to the vehicle and found methamphetamine in his pockets upon searching him.
Chico has admitted to struggling with addiction for years, and we hope he gets the help that he needs moving forward!
