Hollywood star Armie Hammer and estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers are reportedly trying to rebuild their relationship amid allegations of abuse against the actor.

The Death on the Nile star, 35, is fresh from his stint in a treatment facility to help him with drug, alcohol and sex-related issues, and is now focused on repairing his 10-year marriage with his 39-year-old actress wife.

"Elizabeth's priority has always been her children and their well-being. The past year hasn't been easy, but she and Armie have always had love for each other," a source told People magazine.

"They're slowly figuring things out as a couple, but being parents to their two kids will always come first."

The couple split in July 2020 after 10 years together and two children: Harper, seven, and Ford, four. In January 2021, six months after their separation, multiple women came forward alleging Hammer had sexually abused them.

It was claimed he sent the women explicit text messages in which he allegedly described sexual fantasies including violence, rape and cannibalism.

One month later, Chambers released a statement saying she supported "any victim of assault or abuse" and was "shocked, heartbroken and devastated" over the allegations.

However, despite their estrangement, People magazine claims Hammer remains Chamber's "love of her life".

"Elizabeth has always loved him," the source said. "They obviously had a lot of issues, but Armie's rehab stay showed that he was committed to big changes. They get along and enjoy hanging out with the kids."

Hammer is currently facing rape allegations for an alleged incident with a former partner. The woman claims The Social Network actor "violently raped" her for four hours in LA back in 2017.

Hammer has denied all allegations against him, saying via his lawyer that the encounter was "completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory".

According to Hammer's lawyer, the star left rehab in December but will "continue with out-patient treatments". The lawyer adds that Hammer "takes it very seriously" and is completely focused on his kids and family.
