A Woolworths worker based at the supermarket giant’s Customer Fulfilment Centre in West Footscray and a Bunnings staff member have tested positive to coronavirus.

A Woolworths worker based at the supermarket giant's Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) in Melbourne's west has tested positive to coronavirus, forcing some online delivery orders to be cancelled.

The West Footscray site underwent a deep clean yesterday and Saturday. The worker last worked at the site on July 1 and remains in self-isolation.

The infectious staffer was asymptomatic and undertook mandatory temperature checks during all of their shifts.

All other site workers who worked in close proximity with the team member have been asked to self-isolate and will undergo COVID-19 testing.

Victoria has broken its record for the most coronavirus cases ever recorded in the state, with 127 new cases overnight.

"We're continuing to make contact with our CFC team members and will provide our full support to those required to self-isolate at home in line with the advice from the Health Department," a Woolworths spokesperson said in a statement.

"As a result of the additional clean on Sunday night we cancelled online delivery orders out of the West Footscray CFC this morning.

"We would like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience."

Bunnings worker tests positive to virus

A Bunnings Craigieburn staff member has also tested positive to COVID-19, with other close contact workers also self-isolating.

The store, which is in Melbourne's hot spot region, has been deep cleaned.

"We are following government health advice and our absolute focus is the health and safety of our team members and customers," Bunnings Chief Operating Officer Debbie Poole said.

"As a precaution we have conducted an additional deep clean of the store and we have briefed our team and we're providing support and guidance."
