A trough is generating rain over NSW, while a leaving front is behind the change in conditions over the southern states.
Elsewhere is expected to remain dry and settled, thanks to a large area of high pressure.

The latest weekly snow depth at Spencers Creek in the NSW alps was measured yesterday, and spring warmth appears to be getting the better of this season's snowpack.
Snowy Hydro measured 146.6cm of snow at Spencers Creek snow course the same day. This is around 20cm lower than last Thursday's depth of 167.8cm, which was the running high point so far this season.
If last week's snow depth ends up being the highest for this season, which is possible, it will be the lowest peak depth in five years.
