Victoria records eighth coronavirus death
1 min readA woman in her 70s has died in hospital from coronavirus overnight in Victoria, making her the state's eighth victim.
The national death toll now stands at 28.
Victoria Police have been conducting checks on people to ensure they are staying in self-isolation.

They have conducted 707, and of those cases 391 were returned overseas travellers – 91 of whom were not home when they were supposed to be.
Victorian Health Minister Jenny Mikakos also warned against people hearing about alternative treatments and "cures" for the disease.
"I don't want to see people rushing out to their pharmacies and buying lice treatment," she said.
In Victoria there are now 1115 cases of COVID-19, an increase of 30 overnight. 42 people are in hospital, including 10 in intensive care.
