Two toddlers have suffered head injuries after being hit by a car in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

The boy and girl, both aged two, were hit by a car at 11.30am in Double Bay.

NSW Ambulance crews treated them for minor head injuries.

They were both taken to Sydney Children's Hospital in a stable condition.

Inspector Giles Buchanan, NSW Ambulance Duty Operations Manager, said the children are lucky they are not more badly injured.

"Since the beginning of the year, paramedics have been responding to five pedestrians hit by cars every day," he said.

"This is a timely reminder for all road users to be careful and to look out for pedestrians."
