Mr Trump heaped praised on the therapeutic drugs that he credits with helping him in his recovery.

The president called the therapeutics a "cure" for him, even though there is no cure for viruses such as coronavirus.

He singled out the drug Regeneron, which he said he had asked to be given by doctors at Walter Reed Medical Centre.

"It was like unbelievable. I felt good immediately," he said.

Mr Trump said he had requested Regeneron, which is believed help the body trigger an immune response by providing powerful antibodies.

Just 24 hours after taking it, Mr Trump said he felt better.

"I think this was a blessing from God, that I caught it," he said.

"This was a blessing in disguise."

"I want to get for you what I got. I'm going to make it free, you're not going to pay for it," Mr Trump said.

Mr Trump also repeated that a vaccine could be ready before the November 3 US election but "politics got involved".
