Friends and family continue to pay tribute to 13-year-old Summer Scantlebury who died after a quad bike accident late Monday afternoon.

Friends and family continue to pay tribute to 13-year-old Summer Scantlebury who died after a quad bike accident late Monday afternoon.

The Gladstone teen was quad biking on her dad's property in Dingo but when she failed to return, a search began.

Queensland Police Service were called to the scene at 4.40pm.

A short time later at 4.51pm, paramedics were called and two crews attended the scene.

The teenager was pronounced dead and could not be revived.

Mourning friends and family have taken to Facebook to pay their tributes.

"Our hearts are broken and will never be the same without you there. Summer Scantlebury you were a blessing to our lives. You will never be forgotten forever in our hearts minds and souls," Sandra Johansson wrote.

"Oh beautiful girl. My heart broke and I still can't come to terms with what has happened. You are the sweetest, most caring and beautiful soul. Fly high baby girl. Spread your wings and keep watch over your family," another said.

Only ten people will be allowed to attend Summer's funeral under COVID-19 restrictions.

Queensland Police will now prepare a report for the Coroner.
