Four children have been charged after allegedly speeding in a stolen car through Brisbane's south yesterday.

The Landrover Discovery was allegedly stolen from a property at Auchenflower on Monday.

PolAir tracked the car as it allegedly sped through Inala and down the Logan Motorway at Larapinta just after 2pm.

Police say the car was being driven dangerously and went through several red lights.

The car was seen entering a shopping centre carpark in Toowong just after 4pm and the Queensland Police Dog Squad were called in.

Two boys aged 14, a 15-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy allegedly tried to flee but were caught after a short foot pursuit.

The four teens have now been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary and committing an indictable offence.

They are expected to front Brisbane Children's Court on a later date.
