A disappointed family are looking for the culprit who stole their child's beloved teddy bear from their home southwest of Melbourne yesterday morning.
Like many other teddies across Australia, "Martin" was placed on the porch of the Fisk family's Hamlyn Heights home in Geelong, to show support to children struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.
When six-year-old Maya realised he was missing, her father checked the cameras to find out what happened.
Nathan Fisk has released CCTV footage of the incident in the hope someone will recognise the person who took Martin and come forward.
"It's not about the teddy. Life's hard enough at the moment and it just goes against the whole message everyone is saying to stick by each other," Mr Fisk told 9News.
"The teddy does not have monetary value, it's just annoying and disappointing."
Police have been notified and anyone who can help with their investigation is urged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
