From 12:01am tomorrow morning (January 14), South Australia's hard border will come down for this living outside of designated COVID-19 "hotspots".

Residents from Greater Sydney, Wollongong, Central Coast and the Blue Mountains will be unable to enter South Australia.

Additionally, NSW residents who do enter South Australia will not need to quarantine but they will need to be tested for COVID-19 on days one, five and twelve after their arrival in the state.

Overnight South Australia has recorded two new positive cases in overseas travellers in the state's medi-hotels.

Both cases are in men aged in their 30s.

Chief Public Health Officer Dr Nicola Spurrier said given the cases are currently in quarantine they are "not of concern".

New South Wales recorded one new locally acquired case of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

The new case is linked to a previously established cluster as a close and known contact.

The Northern Beaches status as a hotspot was revoked by the Chief Medical Officer this afternoon.
