Restrictions in Greater Brisbane look set to ease by Friday, with the hotel cluster and UK super strain in Queensland appearing under control.

Just one new case of coronavirus was reported overnight, a woman traveller recently returned from Brazil already in hotel quarantine.

"If we keep this track happening now, it's more than likely that all of those restrictions will be removed by Friday," Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.

There were no other cases related to the cluster from the Hotel Grand Chancellor detected overnight

More than 5100 Queenslanders were tested yesterday.

Currently restrictions on masks in public, and capacity limits on indoor and outdoor spaces are in effect.

No detail was given on which restrictions could be changed.

"We're not out of the woods yet," Ms Palaszczuk cautioned, but she was delighted with the rapid response which had so far contained the spread of a highly transmissible UK mutant strain, B117.

Today marks 11 days since the last infectious case was detected in the Greater Brisbane community.

Last week Brisbane was facing a potential outbreak problem, with the UK strain at the centre of the Hotel Grand Chancellor cluster.

Investigations into that cluster are continuing.
