A pregnant woman and her unborn child have been killed in a car crash in northern NSW.
The 20-year-old woman was a passenger in a Holden Commodore, which police said crashed into a pole after colliding with a Mazda Bravo on Warialda Road in the town of Inverell.
The driver, a woman aged 23, was also seriously hurt and was airlifted to Tamworth Hospital in a stable condition after the crash at 10.30pm yesterday.
The passenger, who was 32 weeks pregnant, was taken to Inverell Airport but died before she could be flown to hospital.
The Mazda driver, a 19-year-old man, and a female passenger suffered minor injuries.
He was taken to Inverell Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police are investigating.
