A Queensland mother has drowned while swimming with her daughter at an unpatrolled beach south of Coolum on the Sunshine Coast this morning.

Emergency services responded to Jubilee Esplanade about 7.15am after surfers managed to pull the woman to shore.

Surfers rendered CPR before emergency services arrived.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics, including Critical Care arrived shortly after and tried to resuscitate the woman, but she could not be saved.

Police say the 34-year-old woman from Toowoomba was swimming with her 11-year-old daughter at First Bay when the pair were dragged out to sea.

The daughter managed to make it back to shore but the woman was found a short time later floating in the water.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
