A man selling toilet paper online for thousands of dollars in the middle of the coronavirus panic got more than he bargained for when he went to meet a surprise buyer.
The man advertised a pack of 20 toiler paper rolls on Gumtree for $2000 - $100 per roll.
He insisted cash only, and told a buyer to meet him in Perth's CBD.
But when he got there only to find 9News wanting to speak with him, he quickly changed his tune.
He claimed he was selling the toilet paper to raise money for "an operation".
Soon after his encounter with the cameras, the add was taken down from online.
But there are still plenty of opportunists trying to cash in on Australia's toilet paper panic.
Supermarkets are cleaned out around the country.
Pasta, cleaning products and even Lego are being emptied out too.
Coles and Woolworths today extended their restrictions on per-person purchases to rice and hand sanitiser.
They say they are restocking daily, but can't keep up with demand.
Other people are taking to the internet to help, with one Facebook page showing people which supermarkets have stock.
