Man’s body and his upturned boat found washed up on NSW beach

Officers believe the man, 76, set out on his boat from Ulladulla Harbour about 5.30am yesterday. An hour later the man’s boat was found upside down on the beach.

A man's body has been found washed ashore alongside his boat on the NSW South Coast.

The police were called to Burrill Lake Beach, just south of Ulladulla, about 6.30am yesterday after the body was discovered.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced by officers from South Coast Police District, NSW Police said.

Officers believe the man, 76, set out on his boat from Ulladulla Harbour about 5.30am yesterday.

An hour later his boat was found upside down on the beach.

It has been taken for forensic examination.

The man is not believed to have been wearing a life jacket.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
