A man has been charged after allegedly stabbing a staff member at a Woolworths supermarket in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula yesterday.

A man has been charged after allegedly stabbing a staff member at a Woolworths supermarket in Victoria's Mornington Peninsula yesterday.

The 25-year-old man approached a male employee collecting trolleys at the Rosebud West store and allegedly stabbed him just before 1pm.

The victim, a 37-year-old Rosebud man, was flown to a Melbourne hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested the offender a short time later and have since charged him with intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury and other assault related offences.

He was remanded to reappear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on June 9.
