The goat inflicted leg injuries on a man in Glenbrook.

"We attend quite a few jobs involving animals but being called to a goat attack is one of the more bizarre," NSW Ambulance Inspector David Patterson said.

"These types of jobs can be quite challenging for paramedics and other emergency services, especially with the possibility of an angry animal lurking in the area.

"Paramedics need to be able to get to the patient quickly, but also have to ensure they are not putting themselves at risk."

The area around the Knapsack Viaduct is part of a popular bushwalking track, though it is not known if the victim was bushwalking at the time of the attack.

The goat hospitalised the man in the Blue Mountains.
