Man accused of murdering teen girlfriend dies after prison bashing

Zlatko Sikorsky was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital from Wolston Correctional Centre with head injuries following an altercation with another prisoner on November 10.

The man accused of murdering his teen girlfriend and dumping her body in a barrel has died in hospital after he was bashed in a Queensland prison.

Zlatko Sikorsky was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital from Wolston Correctional Centre with head injuries following an altercation with another prisoner on November 10.

He was pronounced dead this morning.

Zlatko Sikorsky, 37, is accused of murdering his 16-year-old girlfriend in June 2018.

Queensland Corrective Service said investigations were continuing into his death.

"The Queensland Police Service's Correctional Services Investigation Unit is investigating," they said in a statement.

"Our condolences go out to the man's family and friends.

"Support is being offered to the responding officers and their colleagues at Wolston Correctional Centre."

Mr Sikorsky was charged with murdering 16-year-old Brisbane girl Larissa Beilby, along with torturing her, deprivation of liberty and interfering with a corpse.

Larissa's body was discovered inside a barrel on the back of a black ute abandoned at a residential complex at Stapylton on the northern Gold Coast, in 2018.
