Swimming coach Scott Volkers has had charges of indecent treatment of a child permanently stayed.
The former top instructor was accused of indecently dealing with girls under 16 in Brisbane's northern suburbs in the 1980s and was committed to stand trial in late 2018.
In Brisbane District Court this morning, a judge ruled a permanent stay on the indictment, meaning the charges will no longer proceed in court.
Volkers was originally charged in 2002 but the allegations were later dropped.
He did not appear in court today.
