A popular tourist destination has been closed down due to fears of the coronavirus.

The Gili Islands off Bali have been shut down for the next two weeks.

Tourists currently on the islands are permitted to see out their stay, but no new arrivals will be allowed.

Indonesia has generally been cagey about the spread of COVID-19 within the country, but recently claimed that 117 people had tested positive across the country, out of a population of more than 260 million.

In contrast, Australia has hundreds of infected people from a population of just 24.6 million.

Australian tourism to Indonesia puts in $26.8 billion a year into the country's coffers.
