Police are investigating after a child was pricked by a pin pushed inside a ball at a NSW shop.
The primary school aged girl was in a shop in the Southern Highlands town of Moss Vale when she picked up a small "squishy ball" on Saturday.
When she squeezed it, she was pricked by a sewing pin that had been pushed inside the ball.
The squishy ball was an item for sale in the shop.
The girl did not suffer significant injuries, police said.
Staff at the store rendered first aid before the girl left the store with her mother.
The matter was reported to police on Tuesday.
Police are calling for anybody with information to come forward.
They do not believe the incident to be targeted.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
