A garbage truck driver has faced court after he allegedly ran over a 21-year-old man in Sydney's CBD and moved his body off the road before fleeing.
Tuinuia Fine, 51, has been charged with manslaughter after he allegedly hit and killed George Yuhan Lin yesterday morning.
Emergency services were called to Central Street, between Pitt and George Streets, about 1.30am after the Mr Lin's body was found on the footpath.
Three hours later, police stopped a garbage truck at Kings Cross and arrested the driver.
Mr Fine, from Lakemba, underwent mandatory testing before being taken to Kings Cross Police Station.
Police will allege Mr Fine reversed the truck at speed, hitting the pedestrian and knocking him down, before moving the body.
Outside court today, Mr Fine's family member said: "He's a very good man."
Mr Fine didn't apply for bail and will be back in court in April.
