Ripping into a Four'N'Twenty meat pie from the servo is about as Aussie as it gets and now vegetarians can enjoy the experience too.

Patties Food Group has announced it will introduce a plant-based Four'N'Twenty pie to service stations, supermarkets and football grounds next month.

Consisting primarily of soy protein, the meat-free pie will use the same pastry and seasoning as the original meat version.

The product took eight months of testing before being signed off, with hopes it will appeal to a broader market than the standard beef variety.

While plant-based pies might be welcoming to vegetarians, it's worth noting the product isn't vegan due to other products made on the Four'N Twenty production line.
