Easter long weekend 2020: What’s open Good Friday, trading hours for Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Kmart and more across Australia?
For many Australians, Easter is a time for family gatherings, short getaways, or time spent at church.
This year, Easter will be a celebration of a different kind with all of these events off the table amid coronavirus restrictions.
People hoping to buy chocolates and other gifts for their at-home Easter celebrations need to plan ahead, particularly with altered trading hours on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
What is open Good Friday?
The Sydney Fish Market will operate with extended trading hours from 5am until 5pm. Parking and pedestrian entry will be restricted on site and police will support enhanced security.
The market's five seafood retailers will limit the number of customers allowed inside at any one time and will operate under a one-way traffic system.
Coles supermarkets will be open from 11am to 5pm in NSW, the ACT and the Northern Terrirory.
Stores in all other states and territories will be closed.

Coles' community hour, which allows exclusive shopping time for vulnerable people, will run as usual this Friday from 7am to 8am.
Woolworths' community hour operates until Easter Sunday.
Woolworths stores in NSW and ACT are expected to be open Good Friday, with the exception of some stores. Customers are urged to check online to see if their local supermarket is trading.
Supermarkets in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania and Queensland will be closed.

What is open Easter Saturday?
Easter Saturday is the perfect opportunity to get your hands on last-minute chocolates, as stores that have remained open during the Coronavirus pandemic will return to usual trading hours.
IGA will be closed on Good Friday, but will open again on Saturday and on Easter Sunday in some locations.
Coles, Woolworths and Aldi supermarkets are expected to open with slightly varied trading hours and bottle shops such as Dan Murphy's will return to normal.
Coles supermarkets in the ACT, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory will trade from 7am to 10pm.
Same applies for stores in regional parts of South Australia, however, Coles Metro and CBD stores will open from 7am to 9pm.
Metro stores in Western Australia will be open from 8am to 5pm and those in regional parts of the state will vary.
Opening hours in Queensland are varied, so customers are urged to check their local store.
Most Woolworths stores will enforce regular trading hours; however, some will open as early as 7am and close as late as 10pm.
Customers are advised to check their local store to avoid disappointment.
Aldi stores will be open from 8.30am to 7pm at all stores nationwide.
Kmart will open at 8am and close either at 5pm or 8pm, depending on the store, Target will trade regular hours of 9am to 5pm, while Big W will be open from 9am to 6pm in most locations.
What about Easter Sunday?
Most Coles and Woolworths will be open, with the exception of a few stores.
Coles supermarkets in NSW and the ACT will trade from 9am to 6pm , whereas those in Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory will open between 7am and 10pm .
Hours vary between metropolitan and regional areas of South Australia, with CBD stores open from 11am to 5pm and all metro stores are expected to be closed.
Metro stores in Western Australia will open between 11am and 5pm. Regional stores are varied.
Coles supermarkets also differ on a store-by-store basis in Queensland.
Most Woolworths stores, except Woolworths Metros, will trade regular Sunday hours of 9am to 6pm, while stores in Melbourne and Darwin will extend hours.
Adelaide stores will be closed and most in Western Australia will have reduced hours of 10am or 11am until 5pm.
All Aldi stores will be closed.
What is open Easter Monday?
Coles supermarkets will mostly be open nationwide on Easter Monday.
Stores in NSW, the ACT, Victoria, Tasmania and, the Northern Territory and regional stores in South Australia will trade from 8am to 10pm.
CBD and Metro stores in South Australia will have reduced hours of 11am to 5pm and Western Australia Metro stores will operate between 8am and 6pm.
Community hour is still expected to operate between 7am and 8am in NSW, the ACT, Victoria, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and regional stores in South Australia.
However, there will be no community hour in South Australian CBD and Metro stores.
Store opening hours and the availability of community hour varies in Queensland.
Woolworths stores across NSW, Victoria, the ACT, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and Western Australia will trade as normal, excluding Metro Woolworths stores which will mainly be closed.
Stores in South Australia and Queensland will have reduced hours.
Aldi stores in NSW, the ACT, Victoria and Western Australia will open from 8.30am until 7pm, stores in Queensland will open from 9am to 6pm, and those in South Australia will operate from 11am to 5pm.
Most retail stores such as Target will return to regular trading hours on Easter Monday.
