Two people have been charged for allegedly looting electrical items from a business on the NSW South Coast after it was damaged by fire.

Police allege the 38-year-old man and woman, aged 31, went to the Batemans Bay shop twice last Wednesday and stole the items.

The gear was allegedly found at homes in Tilba Tilba and Narooma yesterday.

Both were arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station.

They face multiple charges relating to breaking into the business and taking goods.

Both were refused bail to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court today.

NSW Police warned they are patrolling bushfire affected areas.

Earlier this week police bosses vowed to ensure three men charged over alleged offences committed in areas of the New South Wales' South Coast impacted by bushfires are appropriately punished.

Police allege the trio were involved in separate incidents involving trespassing, housebreaking and drink driving in fire-affected communities near Nowra.
