A rural town in Victoria has fallen victim to an alleged racial attack after Chinese and Nazi Swastika flags were hung atop a communication tower with the words “COVID-19”.

A rural town in Victoria has fallen victim to an alleged racial attack after Chinese and Nazi Swastika flags were hung atop a communication tower with the words "COVID-19".

Police are investigating after the three flags, including two Chinese and one Swastika, were planted above the Telstra phone tower on Bradley Street in Kyabram, north of Melbourne, sometime between 12am and 6am yesterday.

The act is understood to be racially motivated during the coronavirus pandemic.

It is believed the flags will be removed in the next few hours.
