CCTV footage showing three people running after a man a week before his body was found in dense scrub has been released by Queensland police.

The footage shows Neil Bennett running under the Sheep Station Creek Bridge at Morayfield, north of Brisbane, about 6.30pm on January 11.

Neil Bennett is seen running down a road before his death.

He can be seen carrying a black bag and running towards Morayfield State High School.

Three men wearing high-vis vests run along the same path a short time later.

Police are appealing for the trio, or anyone who knows them, to come forward in the hope they can assist with the investigation.

Police want to speak to these men about Neil Bennett's death.

Mr Bennett's body was found in heavy vegetation near a creek on Buchanan Road on January 19.

It's believed the 43-year-old came from the direction of the Morayfield Shopping Centre on the day the footage was captured.

Mr Bennett was wearing a "Popeye the Sailor Man" shirt which read "Welcome to the gun show" on the front.

Anyone who may have lost or had a bag stolen from the area that day is also urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Neil Bennett was found dead near a creek in Morayfield last month.
