Boy, 4, injured after hit by car in Sydney’s west

A four-year-old boy has been hospitalised with minor injuries.

A young child has been injured after being hit by a car in Sydney's western suburbs.

The four-year-old boy was struck by a Toyota Corolla in Rose Street, Sefton, about 5.50pm today.

A spokesperson for NSW Police said the boy was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to the Children's Hospital at Westmead with minor injuries.

"The driver, a woman believed to be aged in her 30s, was uninjured," police said.

"She was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative result."

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
