The Aussie share market has fallen by almost 10 per cent, wiping $160 billion in what may be the worst ever single trading day in the markets history.

The Aussie share market has fallen by almost 10 per cent, wiping $160 billion in what may be the worst ever single trading day in the markets history.

At close the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 had fallen 9.7 per cent.

The biggest single fall before today was 8.34 per cent during the Global Financial Crisis in 2008.
