A man who allegedly tried to rape a woman in one of Queensland's most popular tourist destinations has been charged by police.
Police claim the 34-year-old local woman was walking between Noosa Parade and Hastings Street this past Sunday morning when the man exited a vehicle and walked towards her.
The man then allegedly attempted to speak with the woman before grabbing and attempting to push her to the ground.

The woman managed to free herself from the man, fleeing to a nearby business, which alerted police.
Sunshine Coast investigators today arrested a 22-year-old Sunshine Beach man.
He has been charged with one count each of assault with intent to commit rape and deprivation of liberty – unlawfully detain/confine and is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
